Client Requirements 

The minimum age for laser tattoo removal is 18 years old. We may ask you for ID if you look under 25.

 

Please review the below information before your appointment to ensure laser tattoo removal is suitable for you. If you have any questions regarding medical requirements please don't hesitate to reach out to us. 

Medical conditions which are not suitable for laser tattoo removal:

  • Pregnant/Breastfeeding

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Lupos

  • Cancer 

  • Vitiligo

  • Psoriasis/Dermatitis *in treatment area

  • Photosensitivity or photosensitive medication 

  • Bleeding abnormalities

  • Hepatitis

  • HIV

  • Condition treated with Thyroxine

  • Any other auto-immune disease

  • Keloid scarring

  • Heart murmur or abnormality

  • Frequent infections

  • Liver/Kidney disease

  • Blood thinning medication

  • Previous adverse reaction/allergic reaction to tattoo removal and/or the body ink in the treatment area

  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure

  • Uncontrolled diabetes

  • Implants/metal plates in the treatment area 

  • Pacemaker

  • Receiving Ro-Accutane treatment

  • St John's Wort medication

  • Pulmonary embolism, blood clots, leg ulcers or phlebitis

Additional instances where laser tattoo removal can NOT be offered:

All tattoos, including PMU:

  • Currently have sunburnt/tanned skin

  • Currently wearing fake tan (needs to be removed from the area at least 2 weeks before treatment)

  • Historical/current use of tanning injections/nasal sprays

  • Received treatment with Ro-Accutane in the last 6 months

  • Taken any photosensitive medications in the past 6 months

  • Taken St Johns Wort medicine in the past 6 months

PMU/Face tattoos:

  • Chemical peel in the last 8 weeks 

  • Use of aggressive skincare such as retinol/retinal/salicylic acid/glycolic acid etc within the past 8 weeks

  • Dermaplaning within the past 2 weeks

  • Face lift / surgery within the past 3 months

  • Laser resurfacing within the past 3 months

The below medical conditions require authorisation from your GP to carry out laser tattoo removal. With GP approval, laser tattoo removal CAN be offered.

  • Controlled diabetes

  • Controlled high blood pressure

  • Epilepsy (if not triggered by light)
