How Long Does it Take to Remove my Tattoo?
It's Takes Time
Tattoo removal is a journey, not an overnight solution, but thanks to incredible laser technology, what was once permanent is now erasable. We use cutting-edge lasers to shatter ink into tiny fragments, session by session, with 6 to 8 weeks between each to let your skin recover and your body naturally clear the pigment. The time it takes varies, small black tattoos might vanish in 3 to 6 sessions, while larger, multicoloured designs could need 10 or more.
lets say your tattoo requires 6 sessions for removal, at 8 week intervals, it will take little over a year to remove, that's it. Sessions last 30 minutes, so 3 hours of your time and what was once a permanent regret is now removeable with medical grade lasers right here at CliniClear.
Factors that Effect Removal Time
Colour
Black tattoos are the easiest to remove, we often see noticeable clearance after the first session. this is down to how effectively black pigments absorb laser energy. On the other hand, yellow is a tricky one, its chemical properties mean that it doesn't absorb light as well as black, deeming laser treatments less effective. This doesn't mean we can't target yellow, it will just take longer than black.
Ink Depth

The correct depth for tattoo implantation is 1 to 2mm. We often see tattoos that have been put way to deep into the skin, this can cause removal to take longer. Tell tale signs of tattoo ink that is too deep is blowout where there tattoo has blurred and raised skin where the tattoo artist has damaged your skin when going to deep.
Our laser has a large spot size of 10mm, so it can penetrate deep into the skin, however, due to the principles of laser physics, energy decreases the deeper it penetrates, this can make removal of deeper tattoos take longer.
Your Health
First and foremost, smoking can greatly reduce the speed in which your body eliminates ink pigment. Smoking impacts your immune system, if you are a smoker, please stop, it's not good for your health and it's not good for your laser removal sessions.
Laser tattoo removal is the first step to getting rid of your tattoo for good, but the next step is to naturally flush out the ink. That's correct, ink breaks down, works through your lymph nodes in your immune system and you eventually dispose of it at the toilet.
Staying hydrated, eating a balanced diet and getting regular aerobic exercise all contribute to positive overall health, increasing the speed in which your body removes your tattoo from your skin.
Tattoo Location

We have major lymph nodes located in our neck, armpits and groin area, the closer your tattoo is to one of these, the easier it is for your body to transport the ink to the node and out of your system. Tattoos furthest away, like feet and hands, often take longer to remove due to their location.
Ink Density
The amount of ink placed into your skin impacts removal times. The more ink that has been packed into your skin the longer it takes. However, shade work or low density tattoos can be removed fairly easily.
